Annamaria's journey began in 2012 when she arrived in London with little more than two suitcases brimming with determination and a fervent love for cinema and art.

 

As dreams metamorphosed into reality, she has stepped foot in the industry as an assistant film editor, contributing to projects such as Tim Burton's "Dumbo", Joe Wright's "Cyrano", Robert Eggers' "The Northman", and George Clooney's "The Boys in the Boat".

The cutting room has been her natural environment for over seven years.

She has lent her editing prowess to several short films and commercials. Her credits include BBC4 and The National Trust.

 

Sparked by her experiences and close collaborations with renowned filmmakers, she has embarked on the development of her film ideas.

Annamaria's short film 'A Pig in a Cage on Antibiotics' led to her nomination for Best Female Director under 25 at the Underwire Film Festival. The following shorts 'Sex, Drugs and Homelessness', and 'Voices of the City', have also garnered recognition at film festivals worldwide.

Her latest short 'The Emotional Baggage' is currently doing the festival runs and has just been selected at The London Independent Film Festival and will premiere on the 12th of April 2025.

She is currently in pre-production of her next short film titled 'The Anatomy of Anxiety', a surreal dark comedy where the organs of the human body play as protagonists.

 

Annamaria also ventures into experimental filmmaking, exploring fresh narrative and visual approaches outside traditional conventions.

 

In addition to her journey in filmmaking, she nurtures her creative spirit through the art of collage. Much like assembling scenes in a film, her collage technique involves piecing together fragments to form a cohesive narrative. Annamaria's collage work was recently featured in Perugia’s Loggia dei Lanari for a Kafka centenary tribute curated by Carlo Floris (28 Sept - 13 Oct 2023) and earlier this year in a collective exhibition at Finch Gallery, London (12-27 April 2024). She hosted her first solo exhibition, a one-day immersive experience, on the 28th November at Odyssey Bar & Lounge in London. She is preparing for the next exhibition this April!
